I’ll be joining DHG/Dødheimsgard Official once again, performing at the Servants of Chaos festival in Oberhausen, Germany. 🎶🔥
For those who don’t know, I’ve had the honor of collaborating with them live on violin during their concert in Barcelona, and now I’m thrilled to join this incredible band once more, along with their new side project, Doedmaghird. It’s going to be equally epic and apocalyptic.
ZlimBratSki made a review in their channel yesterday and he had really nice words about Hands of Necromancy 2 soundtrack (7:50).
«The beauty of the dark fantasy setting keeps on delivering, it’s so beautiful toppled with I personally think is one of the top three if not the absolute best freaking soundtracks that I’ve ever heard in my life.
And the music you’ve just heard now it’s really just a little snippet of the insane, mighty, amazing music that this game has, and it mixes it up but always stays dramatic orchestral like and beautiful».

“Overwhelming second full-length studio album by Asciimov, the most masked and hermetic project of the brilliant musical shapeshifter NHT (As Light Dies, Garth Arum, Deemtee…), an vast musical epopee composed as the soundtrack for the acclaimed dark fantasy first-person retro-shooter “Hands of Necromancy II”…
In this renewed and mighty transfiguration of Asciimov, NHT invites us to follow the adventures of the necromancers Acheron and Phaedra through over 70 minutes of deeply personal neofolk, rich with the fantastical and medieval dark dungeon atmosphere and an impressive orchestral cinematic score, in one way it’s as if the dark folk of Heilung, Faun or Wardruna were fused with the compositions of Basil Poledouris for “Conan the Barbarian”, Howard Shore for “The Lord of the Rings” or Hans Zimmer for “Gladiator”, a true epic masterpiece that will captivate, not only fans of the video game, but also followers of neofolk, dark synth and music inspired by fantasy, role-playing games and sword and sorcery literature…

The music and atmospheres delve deep into the unfathomable abyss, echoing Lovecraft's dark universe. Vocals alternate between offbeat declamations reminiscent of a drunken master, guttural voices akin to characters from a Romero film, and the haunting cries of beasts lurking in Scandinavian forests – all delivered with precision and intent.
If you haven’t listened to Deemtee‘s December 2023 album Strange Aeons & Deliriums, you should. If you need more fulsome encouragement you could read my review which accompanied our full-album premiere here, or you could watch and listen to the new video for “Forbidden Fumes” from that album, even though it’s just one facet of an extremely multi-faceted record.
I’ll borrow from what I wrote before about the song: As “Forbidden Fumes” begins, a guitar dances like a lively sprite, the bass transmits a jazzy pulse with a fretless tones, and NHT continues to deploy his excellent singing voice, adding to the song’s engaging aura.
As that song proceeds, the music spins up into greater extravagance through a glorious guitar solo, and then NHT‘s soaring and somber singing begins to sound more demented, the music more jolting, the drumming more rambunctious, the surrounding music more… deliriously glittering. It becomes a fascinating dream, with a truly head-spinning crescendo.
The video is very cool too, as much of an extravaganza for the eyes as the song is for the ears.
