Asciimov has produced a genuinely fine work here. It does transport me, it does paint pictures in my mind and it does move me. And I think anyone with an interest in medieval ambience, dungeon synth or smooth electronic fantasy worlds would genuinely enjoy this. I certainly did.
Another great review of Hands of Necromancy 2 soundtrack from Gamegrin by Alana Dunitz:
«The soundtrack for Hands of Necromancy II is awesome. It’s moody and atmospheric, fitting this fantastical world full of dark creatures very well. I didn’t expect something so epic sounding out of a game that looks like it’s from the era of other classic FPS games!»
ZlimBratSki made a review in their channel yesterday and he had really nice words about Hands of Necromancy 2 soundtrack (7:50).
«The beauty of the dark fantasy setting keeps on delivering, it’s so beautiful toppled with I personally think is one of the top three if not the absolute best freaking soundtracks that I’ve ever heard in my life.
And the music you’ve just heard now it’s really just a little snippet of the insane, mighty, amazing music that this game has, and it mixes it up but always stays dramatic orchestral like and beautiful».
The music and atmospheres delve deep into the unfathomable abyss, echoing Lovecraft's dark universe. Vocals alternate between offbeat declamations reminiscent of a drunken master, guttural voices akin to characters from a Romero film, and the haunting cries of beasts lurking in Scandinavian forests – all delivered with precision and intent.
13. As Light Dies - The Laniakea Architecture - Volume II
This album here, along with the next one coming right up, are of that rare caliber of releases that would have probably made it high on my weird AOTY list had I had more time to live with them.
However, even given the fact this thing just got released, it probably got more replays with me than albums that came out nine months ago. Infectious, very well done "weirdo Norwegians worship," especially impressive coming from a one-man project.
Take a gander at the FFO that I'm about to lay on ya, and you'll have a nice idea of good this is. FFO: Ved Buens Ende, Virus, Dødheimsgard.
